Kendrick Lamar: A theology of thirst, doubt and redemption
Season Finale of Theology of Hip-Hop
And there you have it folks. Ten episodes of Theology of Hip-Hop are live!
I feel overcome with gratitude that this idea has been realized and shared with the world. Working on this has been a lot of fun and hearing how it has impacted people is truly humbling.
This latest episode on Kendrick is no exception.
The good people at Presbyterian Outlook shared:
This episode invites listeners to sit with complexity — not to resolve it — and to hear hip-hop as a serious site of theological reflection, ethical struggle and prophetic critique.
And at the heart of this project that is precisely what my desire and prayer for this project is: I want us to take hip-hop seriously as a tool for healing.
It’s far from perfect (what on this side of eternity is?) but at its best it gets folks free from all of the messages that tell us we are less than, unworthy of love, and invisible.
